Grub N Gab Toastmasters July 25 Recap

Thank you everyone for a fun-filled meeting this week.  Our theme was Zoo.  Shirin, our Toastmaster, opened the meeting, asking everyone to name their favorite zoo animal.  Growing up, she used to save her money for trips to the zoo.

Our one speaker, AnnaLisa persuaded us to take up bowling, the most popular recreational sport.  According to AnnaLisa, anyone who can roll a ball, can bowl.  Better yet, join a bowling league and make some new friends.  You could even bowl at lunch.  Leagues range from $89 a night to as low as $25 a night but some provide a fashionable ball and shoes as well as the opportunity to bowl in Las Vegas.  Click here to see AnnLisa’s presentation for more details.

During our Table Topics, we discussed the importance of zoos for conservation and awareness as well as shared stories of animal encounters.  We also discussed our favorite animals and who our spirit animal would be.

Shirin closed the meeting sharing her recent visit to Annenberg PetSpace, which saves animals from high risk shelters.  Miraculously, Shirin left without adopting a cat.
