Grub N Gab Toastmasters Nov. 28 Recap

Gratitude was the theme of our November 28 meeting.  Jeanie, our Toastmaster, encouraged us to combat the negative thoughts we often have about ourselves by offering every member three specific and thoughtful reasons why she is grateful for us. It helped us all look at ourselves in a positive and different light.

We had two excellent speakers.  RoseMary won the Best Speaker ribbon with her Ice Breaker speech. Using organization, PowerPoint slides and humor, she eloquently explained her love for learning.  Sam’s speech, American Dream, was a personal tale of gratitude juxtaposed by the story of another less fortunate Mr. Oh.

Our best Table Topics winner was Gorje who shared his experience co-teaching a course on Financial Peace and the gratitude he felt knowing how much the gift of a mattress was appreciated by one of his workshop attendees.

Sapna took home the Best Evaluator ribbon offering with her thoughtful evaluation of Sam’s speech.

Thanks everyone for such an uplifting meeting. Happy Birthday Sam and thank you Jeanie for an excellent theme – I am grateful for your openness, positivity, and infectious enthusiasm.
