Grub N Gab Toastmasters – March 20 Recap

This week we had a small but very productive toastmaster’s meeting.   Our Toastmaster, Nancy, picked “Balloons” as the theme of the meeting and it brought back memories of fun games with balloons, which was very uplifting.   Our two speakers did great presentations.  Sam took an opportunity to practice a eulogy for his Mom and it was very touching and made us feel that we got to know her a little bit.  RoseMary completed her Presentation Mastery Level 1 and educated us on all different types of genetic testing.  It was a very informative and interesting speech.  Our Table Topics Master, Shefali had great questions about balloons and everyone had a lot of fun sharing their memories and thoughts about balloons.   We had a tie for best speaker, congratulations Sam and RoseMary.  Dan was best Table Topics.  All in all it was a great meeting and we look forward to seeing everyone next week.

Grub N Gab Toastmasters – Mar 13 Recap

Spring Bloom was the theme of our  meeting on March 13.  Sam shared this beautiful butterfly picture he recently captured and inspired us with the story of the Monarch’s migration.  Daniel gave his first planned speech and had us laughing from the beginning with and ice-breaker joke and two truths and a lie.  He shared his goal of hiking Mt. Everest and helped us get to know him better through his most memorable and favorite hiking trips. Dan won bets Table Topics explaining how love will be blossoming in Colorado on June 2nd when he marries Katie his Fiance. RoseMary gave an excellent evaluation and we had three first-timer awards. Welcome Spring!

Grub N Gab Toastmasters March 6 Recap

Thank you everyone that was able to participate in our special Working in Teams Workshop.  Nancy delivered an outstanding workshop and completed her Advanced Communicator Gold.  Did you know that working in a team helps with a division of labor and fosters creativity?  You don’t have to take everything on alone and the team can learn from one another.  During the workshop we learned about team communication, team relations, encouraging commitment, fostering collaboration, building trust and resolving conflict.
